Hi,
New to the forum and saying hello. Always wanted an RC tank and bought one this week. It's a Heng Long Leopard 16th scale. Has been upgraded with metal running gear, including tracks and all gearbox parts. It has a fault with the turret not elevating but other than that it's working well. I'm a software / electronics engineer by trade so going to see if I can fix the turret fault.

Hello and welcome to the forum Jay
Well, you can still get the vendor to replace the tank, especially if something is broken or dead, why pay out for parts on a new tank, unless you intend to fully upgrade or convert the turret contents.
Anyway, your decision. Enjoy the forum.
Mick.

Hopefully you didn't pay over the odds for it. Worse case, the control board or controller has a fault, best case, just a wire has come adrift, and in between, a defunct elevation unit, or the arm attached to the gun that gets elevated has broken off.
Or, the past owner messed about and ended up connecting the wires incorrectly.
All good fun to sort out

Lol ... I knew someone would pick up on that

I got it for £120, total bargain I think with all the upgrades it has
I got my scope on the output from the receiver to the elevation servo and there is no signal coming from the receiver, so it's either a faulty transmitter (doubtful) or a faulty receiver. I'm going to try and drive the turret from an arduino tomorrow to see if it responds
