M3 Scout car

Post by Tiger6 »

Been picking away at this for a couple of weeks - figured it would be a simple model to do as a break from "death by a thousand rivets" that was the Panhard 178 I was working on previously
(Seriously France, what is it with the lack of symmetry on your AFV's!?!!? Every panel is at a different angle and has a different rivet pattern!)

Great! Now you will experience "death by a hundred bolts" ;)

This is one of my favotite armorured cars, especially since my dad owned 1/6 scale version until it was sold.

That looks great, Martin. This is the one I've been waiting for. I plan to print this in both 1/16 and 1/6 scale. I'm just hoping that the tires and rims from The ROC Jeep will be something close to the correct size for one of these in 1/6 scale. And if not, I'll print my own.

I'm only going to use the WPL motor, leaf springs and JJRC axles (and they will have to be cut down and rehoused).

What made you decide to go with the jjrc axles? I know they have a true differential, but as far as I know they're only available in plastic. Do you think they'll have the stones for the job?

For the 1/6 version I'm going to try to wait and just let Wayne tell me what axles to buy. @) 8)
