Re: Adin's Tiger 1 build
The Tiger 1 looks a very impressive kit.I love all those metal perts, looks very strong,as it should do.
I'm with you on the colour, grey all the way!

Re: Adin's Tiger 1 build
Ok so I sprayed the wheels with grey primer - How many wheels ? lol

I was rushing towards the end (and I shouldn't have) got a couple of runs, but I don't think that they are too serious and will probably wash out.
Am now awaiting the next delivery of grey primer as I've run out. Brighton only seems to have Modelzone as a paint/model supplyer and they are really rubbish. I went there today and tried to buy some primer to carry on until the stuff I've ordered arrived, and they only had the smallest cans. As the next thing to be primed is the hull, I just laughed at the assistant and said "regardless of what you've heard, size is EVERYTHING, and that's too small". Is Modelzone generally crap everywhere or is it just Brighton?
Next I fitted the gear reduction thingy. Unlike most mods this came with instructions (of a kind ) I still had to go away and think about it before it made sense to me. Has anyone else used the gear reduction for Tamiya boxes? If so - why do they give you 1 alan key when you actually need 2? and what are the 4 other sprockets for?
1st shot shows the box on the right with the reduction thingy fitted , the one on the left is standard

Same again from another angle

Shall probably paint the wheels tomorrow

Hi Adin,
A lot of modellers use acrylic primer from motorist discount shops. The cans are much bigger and a lot cheaper
Nice work, keep the posts coming.
Cheers

Re: Adin's Tiger 1 build
no probs mate just make sure it says "ACRYLIC" on the tin and all will be good

Re: Adin's Tiger 1 build
The hull primed in Halfords primer (what a brilliant tip)

From another angle

I then proceded to shade it with Tamiya flat black and then spray it with German grey. Even though I gave it 24 hours between coats the flat black has reacted with the grey and given a crazed effect. You'll have to take my word for it when I say that it doesn't look as bad as the camera makes it look here. I've decided that as the areas effected are areas I'm gonna weather , I shall leave it.
This is it after 2 coats of German grey
