Nice work , how small is the ESC ? and do you cut down the all the cables to tidy up the electrics as its a tight space to work in ?

Thanks ronnie, I use a small 30amp esc from china, they are only a few pounds and are quite hardy in these small vehicles I find. I also use a receiver without the hard case and just heat shrinked as this also saves a lot of space, you'll be surprised when all the wiring is folded up neatly how much room there actually is in there, I can even fit a small lipo in as well

Cheers, Lee.

It's a lovely model. Much too good for me to experiment on!

Thank you Jimster :D I must try and download a video editor to make better clips rather than the basic one's that I do now. I'm happy with how the kubel has developed from a static kit to a decent little rc run around

Hi Lee, I'm really new here and just wanted to say you are probably the reason I joined this forum! Those are fantastic vehicles, and very impressed at how you converted them to RC. Love those sand tyres on the Kubelwagen!!!
I have a 1/16th scale Revell VW Kafer/Beetle kit which I would like to convert to an RC military version. I'm aiming to use Kubelwagen wheels and tyres. But as for the rest of it.....I just don't know, electronics is not my thing and I'm on a budget! I'd love it to be 4 wheel drive but not essential, maybe not enough room for that?

My initial plan was to buy one of those WPL trucks (suzuki?) and use it as a donor vehicle. But I'm sure i'd have problems with drive shafts and axle sizes.

What would you reccomend by way of parts to use? I have planned to put battery in a trailer to allow more space for things like a tiny speaker (if one exists!) and some led lights.
I thank you in advance for any advice you might have, and it will be gratefully received, Simon
