Gearbox identification

Post by Sub »

Hi Chaps,
I wonder if anyone could enlighten me please re an old fully enclosed motor / gearbox that came from an old Tiger 1 tank, it works fine and has square output shaft bearings that used to fit in square boxes near where they emerged from the hull.
I want to use this now in a scratch built project but cannot find any info on it, i think i have seen one on here sometime but cannot find it now.
All the Heng Long sprockets fit the output shafts.
Cheers

Looks like its out of the old 1/16 Matorro's (Tiger, SturmTiger, KingTiger, possibly others like the HL 1/24 modern tanks?)- They are all plastic, and I suspect that like the Mato plastic Sherman sets, probably use the Heng Long gears, tho I can't remember if I ever opened one up or not?

Hi Tiger6.
Many thx for your post.
It did come out of an old 1/16 Tiger 1 that i obtained in a very poor condition years ago and was removed as the tank was brought up to modern times and just sat in a drawer until now, but i had no idea as to the manufacturer of the tank etc so thank you for the information, it will now reside in a scratch build i am doing.
Cheers.
