Re: Hung long challenger 2
I've got one of the early Challenger 2 versions with the RX-18 board.
The sound is ok but not actually a Challenger 2 sound.
I believe it's really the standard Heng Long Tiger sound.
I found off road performance ok out of the box but it wasn't too happy on long grass as I could hear the slipper clutch on the plastic gearbox clicking.
I've since changed it to the Ultimate 2 Gearbox and added metal tracks and longish grass is no longer an issue.
A friend had the new V6.0 Challenger and the sound quality is much better. Still no real Challenger sound but you do get a choice of four engines now.
Off road performance is the same as the older ones as the mechanical parts are more or less unchanged but are easy to upgrade.
They've also added a bit of weathering to the paint finish.

Re: Hung long challenger 2
I have a couple of new 'Hung Long'
Chally 2 and with the 6.0S mfu are both superb drivers on all but thick pile carpet and longer grass.
The difference between earlier HL electronics and V6 or later is like chalk and cheese. The steel gearbox is also a huge improvement over their earlier metal box. Both these upgrades come with no price increase.
The other free upgrade is the Tamiya compatible IR battle system.
There are endless upgrades available, both mechanical and armour options.
