Solder might be a problem, tried to solder a chain onto a metal barrel lock for the Panther1/16 and the lock started to melt. Better try first with the lowest setting on the soldering iron. All we need is a micro board controller ,power requirement is minimal . Think of all the AFVs to choose from in1/35 scale.

Yep I had that thought, so have found some low temp solder (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0195V1QEI) which 'hopefully' will be OK...

The controller (http://35rctank.com/html/p3.html) is available, but the sounds are limited (http://35rctank.com/html/p4.html) - however, you can do 2 axis stabilisation (http://35rctank.com/html/p6.html)!!

I think that the Open Panzer is a bit overkill, but if I can find a Heng Long TK6.1 (need the servo inputs for the turret) unit on the cheap, that would work great and is the right size too.

Man, this is taking soooo long to build in the smaller scale...



The hinges work, but I've decided that some of the super small stuff can go hang!

Side skirts or the rear mudguards are next.

It's working now that the ESC's have arrived from China.



It seems that the motors I ordered from Amazon UK are a bit crappy. This first video is using the Tamiya Twin Motor Gearbox 70097 motors and is much smoother and quieter than the second video running the Amazon motors.

Have tried this UV cured resin 'superglue' and have to say that it's fantastic for small parts that require immediate solidity:

Some PE and parts added, starting to look a bit more Tiger-y...





Going to be painting with Tamiya TS-3, so will put the exhaust shrouds and air cleaners on once painted.

Bit of advice would be appreciated on the placement of the turret bin. I've seen that it's a bit of a lottery as to how to place it but as this is an early Tiger I, I think that it should be closer to the escape hatch and the lifting lug in the centre of the bin?







The other option is to place the lifting lug closer to the left edge of the bin further away from the escape hatch.







I've also had to solder the bin lids on as the hinges were crazy small...

Thanks Jimster - yes and no!

That's from the Tiger I site and that's what's confused me...

But from reading it again, I think I was flummoxed by the wide turret bin (which I don't have)!?

I try to avoid guesswork but I’m thinking that the lifting lug would always be centered in the opening to allow the lifting hooks to attached without difficulty. German over engineering maybe. However I’m still a newbie and sometimes I get pretty eager to post advise.
