Low cost 2.4ghz I\R Battle Tank set > FPV battle video

Post by modler »

I got these last year on Amazon.com for a reasonable cost and have to say they are worth it. My wife and I play with these in the evening during TV commercial time. You can power up\down via a button on the TX. They can stay in stand by all day and then some. They have never thrown a track even though we run them between hard floor and deep carpet. They have plenty of power and work very well due to the 2.4 ghz radio system and have very good range. If you are thinking of I\R battle tanks these are good starter models that are very robust and look decent in play.

ASAP, I will do a full battle video when I can get the wife to help me. She wins most of the time but ever now and then she is defeated.
The Tanks get 4 hits before defeated, There are 4 LED's that show the progress of the hits. When the Tank is hit, it will got to the side and after 3 hits, the turret no longer traverses so you must use the tracks to position the tank for a shot. Has Machine gun damage as well that can be used to equal out skill differences (like a golfing handicap). If I was to go to battle with someone who is a novice, I might use my machine gun only to disable their Tank to be sporting and so forth :D

For now, here is a short video showing a tank being defeated in battle...

Mods needed to improve the operation of these most excellent I\R 2.4ghz RRC Battle Tanks = 0

Does not indicate anywhere what scale they might be but I would say close to 1/25th scale. I will check that in a minute...

after comparing to the others in the picture, looks like 1/32 scale to me . from left to right..1/72-1/35-1/32-1/25

RunCam2 used to make the video. Most here will recognise that these two Tanks are from different eras and never faced each other in battle in real life.

One of my favourite ways of doing a low rez FPV system is using these...

Quanum FPVMe Camera https://hobbyking.com/en_us/quanum-fpvm ... tenna.html
(Video only, no audio microphone)

And

Eachine ROTG02 Dual Antenna Receiver https://www.banggood.com/Eachine-ROTG02 ... mds=search

The camera plugs into your RX in a spare port for power. I usually now have an extension that feeds through an opening hatch in the turret to hook up the camera to. A small square of Velcro on the turret and instant FPV Tank Cam. You power on the tank and your camera is on.

The Eachine turns my Samsung phone into a FPV display. (Has setup for google googles, aka phone used akin to a fatshark).
Total cost? Currently about $50 USD.

Yes it is. We can start or stop the battle anytime via a on\off button on the Transmitter. I know people here like outdoor Tank I\R battles and I do too but they take a lot of planning and time to execute. I can set a living room battle up in a matter of minutes.

I wish I knew someone else around here that is into battle tank warfare besides my wife lol :D

Even RRC. I do not know anyone that even has a remote control tank of any kind.
