British WWII Tanks

Post by Gigantohawk »

Hi Gents,
Not knowing much about British Tanks I wanted to see if their was a natural development from let's say the Cromwell, Comet, Crusader to the Centurion and I found this site. It neatly puts the 4 within a mouse click and shows some good photos. There's plenty of Axis and Allied stuff in there, I just haven't looked at anything else other than the Stug III yet.

Let me know what you think ?

There's much more here:
http://mailer.fsu.edu/~akirk/tanks/

The site features a particularly good history of the cruisers, from the early Vickers designs (which more resemble the Valentine Infantry tank) thru the A13 with its Christie suspension, and ultimately to the Centurian (and arguably to the Merkava series, as a result of Israeli development of the Centurian)
