Clogged tracks

Post by Ragnar »

Just watched an interesting video of a all metal late tiger traversing a white sand beach and it occurred to me to ask experienced tankers what their opinions would be the best way to clean tracks that get heavily clogged with dirt, mud or fine sand. Stiff bristled brush, tooth brush, etc.
Probably not a good idea to hose them off eh’ :haha:
But it’s a dry heat!

Take them off and wash in a bucket or shower.

2x early Tiger 1's made from parts of HL, Taigen, Mato and whatever I saw suitable.

JUST RUN IT OVER THE FRONT ROOM CARPET, THE WIFE WILL HOOVER UP THE DIRT.
Do leave a note in a prominent place for the Coroner to access so he/she knows why you were justifiably killed :haha:
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

I use a set of brushes I got at harbor freight for 99 cents, it's a pack of three, one nylon, one brass and one steel bristled brush and I like the nylon and brass for tracks, and the steel gets used in the garage. Something like this, and though this link says five bucks, I get them out of the dollar bin at my local HF all the time.

Hope that helps.

I guess one of those coconut doormats would do the trick, and shouldn't incur the wrath of one's houseproud partner/spouse. :D
