Then add a resister? However, l'm not a great fan of smokers - far too few seem to work for more than 5 minutes and it's always the smoke maker that gives up the ghost, not the pump!

Correct the heater is the one to go first. I remember ordering a spare part from Ali for peanuts. They sent me two. One of them works for ages. I even have a brand new spare smoker unit but the old one just wouldn't die.
