I have and it is strange the way that wire fell off.I have spent quite some time on this H/L Tiger.
Its had the turret mods and 3-1 gearboxes and zimmermit and metal bits etc etc.but apparantly thats not enough >:( its now telling me it wants a recoil unit and its own room or more wires will be coming loose.I think i may have a wire loose as well ;D

The wiring is a weak point on heng longs.  As a general rule I find if you've gone to the trouble of opening up a heng long its well worth the extra investment in time to give all the main wires a check at both ends to make sure they are not down to the last strand.

I've extensively modded 3 heng longs and re stripped and soldered the power, volume and motor wires as a minimum while I was at it.  I also put a bit of silicone sealant over the joint when re made to protect it from work hardening of the joint due to vibration.

Obviously those with an RX 18 have a significant advantage here with that end being via connectors.

hmm i dont think the rx18s have benefitted from the connectors at all and i tend to remove them and hard wire all to the board as imho they can give trouble ;) ;)

but yes correct on checking wiring and watch the polarity on the main switch as its given me a few heart attacks in my time :o :o :o
