Now if Heng Longs original Pan Tiger had actually been a Tiger 11 a lot of upset could have been avoided.

Pan Tiger.
Am I the last person to discover that Allied Intelligence when first meeting the Tiger11 in Normandy in 1944 referred to it as a "Pan Tiger" and only later called it a Tiger 11?
Now if Heng Longs original Pan Tiger had actually been a Tiger 11 a lot of upset could have been avoided.

Re: Pan Tiger.
A staggering number of Pan Tigers have been sold by Heng Long, considering it is their worst model, a mongrel that never existed, it never ceases to amaze me that people buy 'a tank' without looking any further.

Re: Pan Tiger.
In the early days it was understandable because it was either Tamiyas expensive Tanks or Heng Longs original Tiger 1 and its follow on "Pan Tiger",
People who bought the Original Heng Long Tiger 1 because they could not afford the Tamiya Tank learnt how to modify the cheap and pretty nasty Heng Long version and so was born this hobby that we have come to love
, (Thanks Heng Long I owe you
)
Anticipation of another cheap Tank provided the surge in Pan Tiger sales with people convinced that if they could do a decent job of fixing the Tiger 1 the follow up would be a doddle, Dohh
The only reason I can give for the continued production of the Pan Tiger has to be because the abortion sells almost certainly to doting grandfathers for their grandchildren,
Gramps knowing nothing about tanks except that they have tracks and a gun,
Heng Long being primarily a toy maker have continued with the lash up and why not if it turns a profit ?

Re: Pan Tiger.
Good morning,
I remember when the HL Tiger1 came out. I was one of those guys who wanted a Tamiya Tiger1 for years but the Mate always gave me the 'look' whenever I mentioned it. I had bought a HobbyCo Abrams off the web a couple of months previous and was hooked on RC tanks. I got the HL Tiger as a birthday gift for myself. It was amazing. The scale inconsistencies did not bug me in the least. I still have that tank, 99% stock and keep it clean and the battery charged. You never know when you want to throw caution to the wind and go charging around the yard at rc car speeds ;o)
regards,
Painless

Re: Pan Tiger.
I had one, cost me £50. After a couple of years there was nothing left of the original at all, replaced everything with upgrades that were expensive back then. Stuck one of the original Elmod's in it, battle system etc. A mate made me total up everything that it cost me...it was around £800??
