Heng long Challenger II

Post by Growbag »

Hi.
Didn't think it would take very long to need some advice.

I have a Challenger II and I'm unable to put any smoke fluid in it. The manual says to remove a cover but the cover on my tank is glued down. I don't think I'm that stupid but does anyone else where it should be filled just in case I'm looking in the wrong place on the tank.

Thanks for any information you can give.
Growbag.

I don't have a Challenger 11 but I have had various smokers over the years, most of them a waste of valuable space in the hull.
If its a Heng Long Smoker I use half a pipette full of "Mega-Steam Smoke Fluid" which I squirt down the clear plastic pipe that feeds from the smoke unit into the exhaust pipe.
It works just fine,
Dave at http://www.forgebeartanks.com sells Mega-Steam.
When your Heng Long Smoker fails and trust me it will I suggest a search of Dave's site for a "TARR SMOKER" which is a far superior replacement.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

When you say you are having trouble becuse the cover is glued down you you mean the top of the tank or the exhaust grills on the sides of the rear deck? You should be able to prise one open/off and add your oil there.

Hi Black Knight.
Turns out the cover you lift to add the smoke fluid is now glued down because the plug underneath was always getting lost.
Now you fill them by using the thin tube which goes on the smoke fluid bottle and feed the other end through the grill in the cover.

With that information I would reiterate my recommendation to use "Mega-Steam" which includes a pipette in the rubber bulb cap that allows you to fill a measured amount of oil into the smoker,
Half a Pipette is enough,
Any more will flood the heater element.
Mega-Steam comes in a variety of aromas including petrol and diesel, It is available from http://www.forgebeartanks.com
£9 plus postage.
While I would not recommend it as an after dinner aperitif the liquid is harmless unlike Heng Longs own fluid.

Aye - that's what I meant - fill via the exhaust grill :D
