King Tiger rear deck lift hooks
Can any one show me the correct position for. the hooks that are located front and back of the fan housing either side of the tank. Some builders have four, some have three with the front one positioned under the anti grenade screens when installed.i am confused so any help will be appreciated. This is the best site for R C tank builders by far.Regards John.

Re: King Tiger rear deck lift hooks
Here are some pics of my Tamiya King Tiger and one of my Taigen/Torro King tiger. The arrangement of the four lifting hooks is the same. They are situated at four corners, with the hooks facing outwards.

Same here for both the HL models l have and the new Torro model l am building. They could, of course, all simply be copying each other but on-line KT images are plentiful for reference. Happy building!

Agree- but of those modelling the real thing, Tamiya and its team of fastidious investigative researchers, are the ones most likely to get the details right.General Jumbo01 wrote:Same here for both the HL models l have and the new Torro model l am building. Don't disagree with that! Like l said, there are thousands of photos of real 1/1 scale KTs on the web so deciding shouldn't be a problem. You'll probably find both.
One thing l can confirm, having just put zimmerit on the Torro model, the Trumpeter kit ATAK made the zimmerit to fit is very different in where all the attachments (dozens if them) are placed! Only a few mm maybe but it needs to be perfect. Worth the effort though as it looks amazing finished. Back to the original question, were all the KTs manufactured in the same factory. If not that could explain small variation but if so, then variances usually only happen over time. It would be no fun if it were easy!

Part EC11 shows the position to be as we've said above. Useful attachment.
