Fountain

Postby 50koruny » Sun Apr 14, 2019 10:37 am

Hi,
we have started a new season here, in the open air tank museum in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia.
Our battlefield is still growing. There is still a lot of things to do.
This time, we have tested my 3D printed fountain in 1/16.
Upper part of fountain is printed from ASA and contain 5-7 parts (i dont remember this exactly)
and this green part is printed from PET(G) and contain 3,5l of water (123,2 fl oz).
There is a cheap water pump from ebay for cca 5€.

Working great, now we need to build a garden around the fountain.
I will post some photos with garden around (next time).

Very interesting! We need more things like that in the forum.

Can you share what did you use for the pump?

Thank You, both.

Son of a gun-ner - I did not notice this before. Now i see this.Yes.Drops of the water are giant :haha: .
I have to talk with one friend, wich is a chemist.Maybe i can resolve this.
Maybe its a question of surface of the fountain. We will see, right after i meet this smart man.

Rad_Schuhart - i have used this one.12V water pump with little LiPO 2S battery.It cost about 5€.
Even with low voltage is too strong, so i have drilled one 3mm hole into the hose to reduce flow rate.

Sorry, didn't mean to make it disappoint, it's still a very cool project.
Sadly we can't scale mass ;)

Looks really good, and you've given me some ideas. I wonder how the solar panel from one or two of those sidewalk lights would work with this. Then you'd have a cool fountain that runs for free! @) @)

Are you planning to share the stl files so the rest of us can flagrantly copy all your brilliant work? 8| :O :haha: :haha: :haha:

If you can up the pressure & drop the flow rate you'll get the smaller droplets, trick will be to get them to come down in the fountain. Adding soap will reduce the surface tension, but you'll end up with a foam bath too....

yes.alcohol.this was my first idea.
but i need a 3,5l of the alcohol, and in windy wheather i need to refill this every hour, so alcohol can become expensive.

i dont have idea about the sharing of the STLs right now, but i can share this later.probably.

Yes, it would be expensive, especially as it will evaporate

That’s funny. Alcohol doesn’t evaporate around our house.

I’m putting mine down to evaporation, god knows the MRS is always up me for my excessive rate of evaporation.

Its a leveled and outlet is around the whole fountain and is really huge.I have to take a pictures.I want to go there this weekend, so i can take photos.
There is a (simple) filter inside, of course.

This is a (bad) picture of the inside. You can see the outlet around the upper tank.
I dont think i can make a usefull photo of this drain.

Nice fountain...
If you could put a potentiometer in-line with the (+) line, you could slow down the pump whereas it just trickles over the top, it would then run down the sides of each section. You would not get the spray but the water would shimmer and look cool.

Cheers!

Hi,
i have some progress again.Today was a nice day, so i have adjusted terrain around fountain.
I need to paint that steps and catch some weathering for Hippocrates.
Now i have to do some garden benches and little bit of some nice fence.
Some grass and flowers too.Of course.Step by step.
