Turret ring tight

Post by Electricdemon66 »

Hi guys
Just purchased the steel turret ring and motor set for Tiger 1 from Forgebear but having trouble with it turning smoothly.
The bearings are dropping down too low and causing it to bind. Pretty sure I've put It together correctly so wondering if there's a simple solution ?
Any advice appreciated

Hi there  can you attach some photos of the setup? Sounds like the ring is binding up on something.

Yes here's a couple of pics of how it fits and how the bearings drop down under the weight of the turret if it helps.ImageImageImage

Doesn't the plastic turret ring sit inside the bottom of the turret ?

Refit the plastic one and see how it sits in the turret.

I think you may need to trim a bit off the bottom of the turret.

I had a similar experience with the turret ring. One of the bearings was not spinning freely and jamming as it would drag on the upper hull lip. Take it apart and make sure they all move freely and also try moving the turret with the parts installed without the motor installed. Is it free or binding

It's like there's too much weight towards the front of the turret so it pulls the bearings down and out of where they should sit inside the ring, so then they grind on the edge of it.

On the Tiger HL,the circular part on the châssis presides a height defect on the frind,it oasses with plasric crown, but not m?tal ( weight) more important,to try with a counter weight on the back of the base turret to see......
