I have some news regarding the bluetooth stuff. Please ignore the module I posted in the previous. That one has no amplifyer, so that needs to be added.
Instead of that, grab this one, price less than two euros. Is smaller, has stereo (for two speakers 5W Output) and comes with connectors. Range seems to be about 15-20 meters.

Keep in mind you can fit this inside your tamiya/heng long tanks and make them able to play custom sounds and music! Yes, custom user sounds and music in your tank for about one pound!

You will need to add a voltage regulator though. How much? 70 cents. That should be the one to use. Has two output of 5V and 3A (but only one is needed). The bluetooth module works with a maximum of 5v, and has a maximum draw of 2.5A

For my battlefield I have one of this boards. 2 euros free shipping.

So I can adjust the voltage for different things. 3V for leds, 5V for the bluetooth module, 8V for the smoke generator.

I hope somebody finds this interesting, because Im really excited :)

Don't get too excited Rad, you know what happens when you do. . . .

This is all cool stuff

Now for a dumb question. Are you saying that we can control effects on our battlefield with all this using blue tooth without the aid of any RC equipment?

Lol, yes, thats what I am saying, but not only in the battlefield, but our tanks too. But of course you will need a smartphone/tablet with bluetooth to control it. You pair your phone with the bluetooth module, and then select the sound/music (that has to be previously installed in your phone) or you open a youtube link, and the bluetooth module just plays it. Pretty much like all those bluetooth speakers sold everywhere... But now we know how to make them in a ultra reduced scale to fit them everywhere :)

That was the idea 1... But then I thought it would be cool to have a mobile phone App to play whatever sound we want more easily and user friendly. I have zero idea of programming, but I started with this yesterday, and this is how my pre alpha 0.00001 version looks so far.

That's a cool set up for the price

Would be handy for when using on board cameras too

Inspirational stuff, as ever, Rad- delivered with your irrepressible enthusiasm :D . Fully budgeted too

... Now, if anything's going to terrorise the local rabbits, sheep and rock doves- this will do it. :haha: That said, I rather like them; it's really the local Ticks (Zeck) I'd like to drive to the point of self-destruction

Well, meanwhile all the parts for the bluetooth and for my radio arrive from china, (sigh...) I continued with my watchtower build that I had abandoned for months.

I did this video. In the last seconds of it you will see that I keep missing your island, lol.

phpBB [video]

Now as you can see, the tower is going to have a working searchlight with pan and tilt. I have to 3D design the focus first (no idea how to do it so far) and to 3D Print it (thanks Midlife for offering!) but the idea is to place the light iself over the servo. And to paint the servo too, of course.

Thats not all, I also want to put a small stove inside the tower, with a working red light on it.

As you can see in the video, the tower works as a stand alone unit. It has his own battery, and 3 channel receiver (One channel for pan, another for tilt, and the third channel controls two leds, one for the searchlight and the other will be the stove. The searchlight unit itself is quite stand alone too, can be plugged and unplugged in seconds as showed in the video.

The tower is also designed to be powered by a external power. It will be connected in the future to a network that will power my entire scale city. Just in case you want to do something similar, be sure to not to overpower it!
