Servo Recoil & Servo Elevation Help Needed

Post by Merlin707 »

Hey guys,
Need some help if possible, would anyone who has fitted a Servo Recoil & Servo Elevation system into a Taigen/Torro Turret be willing to help fit mine?

I have the Servo’s but I’m really struggling to mount/fit them into my King Tiger.
I’ve watched more videos on YouTube than I can count but it’s still not sinking in and I don’t want to knacker them by mounting incorrectly.

My brain injury is really hampering me see a logical and straightforward approach to this.

I’m in Lincoln, Lincolnshire if that helps.

Thanks in advance.

Fitting servos can be tricky , i always have to adjust the fixing positions for the servos and horns. I never get it correct first time. Easy option is a kit for servo elevation and recoil. Problem with the kit is that the recoil might not be correct for the KT as they are a one size fits all unit.

Are you trying to convert a Taigen KT from Airsoft configuration to IR (with recoil and elevation)? Or is this, perhaps, a build from Taigen components?
Whose IR/recoil unit are you using? Is it the Taigen all-in one recoil/ elevation unit, for instance, or maybe one from Clark?
Adding more detail to your description of the challenge can only help you find solutions, or tips, here. Post pics where you can too...

Is there a club in the area that may be able to assist?

I installed recoil servs into my Panzer3 ....and pretty much had to scratch build the lot. I just looked at pictures of what had been done....and took the barrel and a spare airsoft barrel and gun section, and worked from there.

My King Tiger is the Taigen all metal version with the IR and recoil system.
The plan was to rip out the Taigen mechanisms and replace with servos.

A very timely video, Stian! What's more, that's a very neat, and logical, adaptation you have made there.

As soon as you want a full range servo elevation this mod, as great as it is, won't work anymore.

The taigen elevation /recoil is a rubbish design . Its into the bin with it, elevation is limited and recoil travel needs worked on. If you fit a servo for the recoil thats only correcting half of its problems . Better off with 2 servos.
