Famous last words eaten by forum vendors.

Post by Son of a gun-ner »

Ages ago, I believe I stated that I wasn't going to get sucked in to buying after market control boards and controllers for the tanks.

Then Dave (Forgebear) introduced me to the Taigen Sherman, which needed electronics, so, I bit the bullet, and ended up purchasing the first (and only), an IBU2U with fly-sky from Ian (Tankbear).

Fast forward at least a year, and Dean (dgsselkirk) decides to recently sell off some Clark boards. . . .
After purchasing three, I decided to ask Dean if he still had this that and the other for sale, why not, let's make full use of shipping etc.

Therefore I ordered his firefly hull, and some British helmets in different guises, oh, and some ammo crates.
When the package finally arrived, I couldn't believe my eyes, not only did I get what I ordered, I got so much more.

The boards.

The rest of the order.

An unbelievably generous extra load of goodies. Words defy me. Thank you so very much Dean, it was a pleasure to finally do business with you

And finally, while I was waiting for this order, and in case you wondered why I didn't want the turret with the firefly hull, I'd rather convert heng long pre wired turrets with the latest electronics, and, so, I ordered a couple from Forgebear. Thank you Dave and Julie, always a reliable service. And always a pleasure to do business with.

Dean's great, but I don't remember getting those Battle bowlers, and crates, with My Firefly kit ;D Must check again. I expect Dean has made the package even more tasty than it was a couple of years ago.. :D

Oh yeah, and I intend to get a few more once he finishes his secret project that I'm patiently in line for ;) :D

Then after that (probably two or three months), it's Mr maxmekker's turn to ply me with chocolate :D

You really don't have to be that big a spender for me to send you a few little extras... :D

I have been selling Commonwealth stowage kits for about 6 months now but an currently out of stock for a month or so. We are going to revamp it for the next run. And yes, it contains Brody's and special 17 pd. ammo crates as well as tarps and rolls... :D

I will have some cool new other stuff as well in the next couple of months as well as some more stash clearance kits... :eh:

Oh no, although I didn't order the whole kit, just the hull and hull parts. The Brody's and 17 pd ammo crates didn't come with it, they were an extra purchase by me, that particular picture contains my order along with the three boards

Thought I'd better clear that one up, don't want Dean getting complaining PM's from disgruntled firefly kit customers ;)

I don't think it has anything to do with how much you order, I think Dean's just a pretty good guy. I recently made him some tires and when he sent the money by PayPal I found that he had even included a tip. About 40% more than what I had originally asked for. That brought a nice little smile to my face, so thanks again, Dean.

If you guys were in the states I've got bucketloads of ammo crates that are 3D printed with real wood filament that I've been basically giving away. Maybe I should put a bunch in a little box and send them over there to Wayne and let him give them away on your side of the pond?
When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

Gary, I think I need to give you lessons in British and colonial humour ;)

I was making fun at Roy about spending more ;)

Yes, as I've found out, Dean is a real nice guy to deal with  and hence this thread.

I guess you got carried away with your new wood filament then :haha: and that is very generous of you to want to give away your crates

:D I wouldn't worry about Gary, Mick, he's practically an honorary Brit and fully clued up on our eccentricities: satirical aspect included. :haha: He'll probably end up speaking like Cary Grant eventually... :lolno:
