OZ, just to clearly understand the order of this process,after base coat of gray's and the white outline,then the pastel detailing,then the floor polish misting,several coats to seal everything.Then the matt varnish via A/B mist,let dry then the 10/90 oil mix brushed on the detail area's,then the light brushing/damping cloth method.Is this the proper order? Please advise SAX

hi sax.
1, grays
2, white outline
3, pastel
4, floor polish
5, wash, after 24 hrs gentley wipe off any excess.
6, matt varnish

when you do the washes make a oil paint mix of 10% black and 90% burnt umber, put this around all bolts rivets screws any sharp angles and raised detail, leave it to dry for about 24 hrs then take a piece of lint free cloth (i use an old tee shirt ) and dampen it with turps or white spirits and lightly wipe this over the likes of the detail on the cupola to take off any excess wash that is lying on top of the detail ( remember dampen not soak ) use a relatively small brush to apply the wash and take your time.............oz

Is the 10/black 90 burnt umber mixed with white spirits ? How much thinners/white spirit is mixed with the 10/90 oil paint mix ?

this is hard to explain without actually showing you, so i think what i,m gonna do is post a pic of how much oil paint and how much thinners with the brush i use for putting on the washes to give you a fair idea of the amounts used................oz

the jar is a standard tamiya jar, hopefully you can get an idea of the amounts used...............oz

Excellent, do you use white spirit to mix the oils with ? The liquid in the jar looks blue ?

i use white spirits the blue liquid is car screenwash i use this to thin my paints, i put it in just so you could see it  ................oz
