Hi all, merry Christmas. I have the metal DKLM challenger 2 chassis and I’m wondering how to adjust the tension on the idlers. I can’t figure out how to do it. Anyone know?

Dklm chassis track tensioner help please
Re: Dklm chassis track tensioner help please
Someone on here must have a DKLM chassis... I can’t be the only one surely?

Re: Dklm chassis track tensioner help please
Some years ago I drilled out the faux fuel fillers on either side of the Tiger 1 engine bays,
I bought the Brass replacements from "DKLM" BUT I had no idea what size thread I needed to tap into the ABS Engine bay,
I E-Mailed "DKLM" and they replied a few hours later with the information I needed So I now top up My Tigers Smoker by unscrewing the Fuel filler cap,
My point being is why don't you E-Mail "DKLM" and ask them How to adjust your track tensioners ?

I DO NOT have the chassis but looking at pics on the DKLM site here are a couple of observations. I am basing them on pure mechanical logic.
Something has to displace the Idler Arm and the first pics shows a "possible" adjustment point that would do that.

This pics shows two screw/nut combinations that "MAY" require loosening to accomplish adjustment using the adjustment shown in the first pic. Really can't tell from this photo what their real function is; they may just be mount screws?

REMEMBER these are only educated GUESSES based on what I can see in the photos.
Cheers,
Barry

Barry,, you're definitely correct in your assumptions
your first picture would make sense that an allen key was needed for adjustment.
And the second picture looks like the two bolts/screws could lock the adjuster in position once adjusted, but they could also be used for mounting the whole adjuster
If that's the case, they would need a very slight loosening, just enough for the arm to move.
Or they may be for mounting the whole assembly and double for arm attachment but not need loosening for adjustment.
In any case, they're best approached with caution.

Thanks guys. I’ll send them an email then update this thread so others can find the answer if they search. I just thought I’d try here first, forums survive on fresh threads and topics so I thought if someone knew the answer it would be here for future hobbiests to find. Anyway thanks for the replies chaps.
