Is there any evidence of crew-fabricated stowage racks?

Post by Lert »

Is there any evidence for crew fabricated stowage racks, done in the field? Like "If we bend and weld this spare piece of steel bar stock we can use this area to carry some jerry cans"?

Yes, for German WO2 tanks for sure. Mainly done by the crews of the maintenance area's. Soms groups are recognisable for specifically how 'they' did it.

Take for example the back of Stug's, but many more armored vehicles.
1:16 was my scale. Until 'Konan' came into my life... an Armortek 1:6 Tiger 1!
... Now followed by a Panther G, 'Gunther'!

I'm a happy man. 8)
