Was looking at a Proxxon mill/ drill combo or the cheap lathe . Almost cost as much as a Tamiya kit. i can wait until a deal crops up.

Hi guys.
As a manual machinist for over 26 years I've worked in the switch and potentiometer world most of my life and if your using any thing thats built to a price it will have some Chinese parts, wire or fasteners in it.
I know the cheep Chinese lathes are crap but I also know I don't want to buy a Myford or a Bridport
I have a small shed with limited room. A 7x14 is after all a hobby lathe and all I have room for. I have read and watched loads of articles on them and all I'm looking for is a hobby machine that can turn threads and small diameter rod or tube, a good level bed that is strait,the rest does not matter and just needs a bit of fettling. I also know you don't but Chinese tooling. And if you need to read Chinglish instructions on a mini lathe you should not be using one.

@ Roy. The one good thing about Proxxon, it is still the same German company that was started in 1977
