I've been sorting out some stuff, and found these two down my shed where they wasn't meant to be.
On the left is a depth gauge I made at school at about 13/14, needs a ruler to measure, but good for rough measurements.
On the right is an adjustable square, I believe the blade is possibly hardened gauge plate, the handle would be another type of hardened tool steel. I made this in my second or third year of apprenticeship over 40 years ago lol.
It was a test piece. All dimensions, square and parallel had to be ground within 1/10,000th of an inch, including the grove in the blade and the blade seating in the handle.
Just thought I'd share. The German is a 4 inch Raiders of the Lost Ark figure for size reference.
