Not to go too far off the tracks, here's the Diorama I once posted, Lee. If you had a spare Sideboard, it would be a good place to keep a 'resting' static tank:

Those effects look great Roy, it's amazing what can be achieved with a little imagination, a muzzle flash on a displayed tank could be simulated in much the same way I suppose, A small led could be placed within the floss to illuminate it to represent the burst of flame from the barrel
