This is a pic taken of my tamiya firefly when I first got it, the bogies are a little close together but they work fine

Wow, that’s what I really like about our forums......the interesting points of view and suggestions that always pop up in response to a simple question, thank you all very much.

The main reason for asking is that I really enjoyed my (hashy bashy) IDF SHERMAN build in “Other builds” and, thought I might like to do another IDF fella but this time with welded hull and VVSS. However, it turns out I’ve been offered a complete but unfinished full option Tamiya,105 (going for a song). It would seem waistfull not to use the HVSS.

Guess my grandsons gonna be a lucky young lad with his first tank being a Tamiya.
Take care..........Gary

Hi Gary,

I'm currently doing the same thing to Tamiya's 16th scale Sherman - mating Mato VVSS units, adjustable Idlers, and track to Tamiya's lower hull, to convert the kit into a Sherman Firefly Mk Ic Hybrid. I'm also using the front end of a Nick Aguilar M4A1 "cast" hull mated to the rear portion of the kit's welded hull to get the Hybrid hull. It's a lot of work but I'm making progress. If you can contact me by PM, I can send photos of what I've done (haven't figured out how to post them on this forum - yet).

Cheers,

Chris - in Victoria, BC

Or, you could use Imgur, as recommended to me lately. It's very easy and intuitive to use. Simply upload your pics to your newly created Imgur account. Then, select a pic to post and click on the 'BB' option in the right hand menu. Then click 'paste' on the 'file' menu in your browser, to land the pic on the RCTW thread you're posting in.
I've used it lately, and found it to be hassle-free. Normally, I upload directly from my Mac, after re-sizing pics to be less than the max. 351kbs the forum requires. (Roughly less than 1240 X 1008 pixels, If I remember correctly). Imgur, however, seems to do the re-sizing for the paste onto the Forum threads automatically, as if my magic :D

Oh God!

Now I'm getting nervous. While I'm much better with computers than I used to be, they still challenge me periodically (and I don't have a 12 year old "I.T." specialist at home to assist). I don't even own a "smart-phone". I'll give it a try, but can feel myself sweating already!

Cheers,

Chris
