Just a quick question......Have Tamiya made a VVS suspension version of Sherman????

Hi Gary,

The answer to your question is no they have only done the hvvs suspension setup, it can be modified though and a few people have done it , I have a tamyia firefly which has been modified to vvss using mato bogies on a tamyia lower hull , hope this helps

No worries Gary, tamiya used the hvss setup on their 105 and again on their 'super Sherman ' kits, you could modify one or just use an heng long lower with the vvss suspension

One thing I have noticed is the Mato suspension units are too tall - the Heng Long ones would be better.

Or, like Dave says, use the Taigen base as it has metal tracks/sprockets/wheels etc

Also the Mato return rollers (plastic versions) are HUGE, bigger than any others.

It's a bit like a youngster trying his Dad's oversize shoes on. In fact, it almost looks as if- on full compression- the bogey wheels would touch...
