Well, here are some photos of the troops. The tank is far from being finished, I still have parts to attach... But I like it so far.

Click on the photos to enlarge.

You may hate to do it, but you're pretty adept at painting those figures, Rad  The faces even hint at that undernourished, and battle-weary, look anyone who'd fought at the failed armoured relief of Stalingrad might have had. Really well done.

Rad, you've got me wondering if I could 3D print those towers and guard shacks. All I need is someone smarter than me to design the STL file. @) :haha: :/

Sure you could do it... But it will ruin the fun! I enjoyed building them in wood, and now I love the feel of it. In plastic would be a different story... I'd love to have a 3D printer for printing time consuming and hard to do details like hinges or window frames and so on, but for the building itself nothing cant beat the scratchbuilding!

Rad, all these crates, as well as the windows and doors, are wood, printed on my 3D printer. I agree that working with real wood is a joy in itself, but for some fine detail stuff the printer is my best bet. I doubt I could produce a wood window frame like these, with my limited skill set. For those that have the talent to craft something like that from actual wood, more power to them, but I really love the fact that technology allows me to cheat! @) @)

The windows and doors are the finish as it comes off the printer, and the crates have been treated with a coat of Flory/Promodeller black wash. That's one thing I really love about the wood prints, they don't have to be painted, just a quick wash, and that's a huge time saver for my lazy ass. :haha: :O 8)
