Either that or he was on LSD. I wonder if he survived the war and went on to paint VW camper wagons in Sanfransisco during the Hippy era

Looks abit like the "octopus" camo as seen on the KT in the reference camo patterns section :-\

According to 'Panzer Colours' :
"The Patterns are red brown and olive green over dark yellow,the red brown being lighter in this case"
