Is somebody with original Benedini products here?

Post by Rad_Schuhart »

Er... Well, I must say I am a bit (well, a lot) embarrassed but well, Im afraid I have no other option... (Im still poor, lol) There is a new software version for the benedini products that is in his website for people that already bought something from him. I cant access because I have no username and password in his website.

I dont have any official product but the chinesse dasmikro knockout. I think the newer program version might be easier to handle and/or add new interesting options, and I really would like to have it, but I dont even know if it will be compatible with the micro board. So, would be any of you so kind to download that program for me and share with me? I dont need anybody username´s and password, but it would be really nice to have the new software version.

All sorted now thanks to the help of one of our colleagues!

Thank you very much!

EDIT: Just FYI, the newer benedini software is not compatible with the micro (original or clone) boards... A pity but at least we tried.

Again, thanks for our forum member that helped me :)

I just had a quick peek at your Website, Rad, and was quite impressed. I liked the graphics, the layout, and ease of access- really well done  Then, I reached your Tank Club page...
Well, clearly Graz is not bulging at the seams with RC tank, and WW2 enthusiasts as, for the moment, anyway- you are the sole member. :(
Well, can only get better. eh? At least you have a member. :D Sooner, or later they will come. 'Build a (Battle)field, and they will come!'
They must be a boring, stick-in-the-mud, lot in Graz.

Hi mate, thanks for the kind words, I am more than glad you like it. I have the blog a bit abandoned due to a horrible lack of time, but I am planning to create a couple of interesting entries next month, and update some others. IMHO I think the smoke machine entry is quite interesting and its worth reading it... It will be updated soon with my new machines.

And regarding the tank club... Well, not much I can say... People here in Austria is... Lets say complicated, hermetic.

In Spain there are many events, where everybody is invited to participate. Those events are open and told in advance so people can assist as a player or as a watcher, and most of the times for free... In the UK definitely seems to be similar. Here you notice most of the events once they are gone. Those are usually private clubs that wont let you take part on it.

One year ago I was lucky enough to find an event in Viena, so I went there with my oldest son and the two best of my tanks, I drove 450kms and showed up there. I paid the entrance fee, and when I spoke with the guy in charge of the tank area, I was just basically kicked away. I explained him the situation, that we were looking for somebody to play with for years and it was really important for me (you cant imagine how important, Ill explain other day), and I even begged to be able to stay with them just for a while... But they told me they were a private club and if I did not leave they were going to call the police... My son started crying and me too (but I managed to somehow swallow my tears)...

My son was so disappointed that I had to act a bit like in the "life is beautiful" movie... I dont want to swank of my tanks, but they were vastly superior in every aspect to their all stock (even stock paint!) heng longs... So I picked my tanks, my son, we moved a bit away and we started battling full volume. After a while we had way more public around us than in the event (Revenge! HA!) lol

But that made me almost throw the towel finding people here, and really made me wish to go back to Spain or to UK... But now thanks to God I managed to have my own garden so I can build my own battlefield (I am on it) and to play with my sons... Everybody is invited to come and join me some day, and I hope some day people here in this city wants to spend a day in my small scale city.

Of course you, british guys, are all invited.

You have my sympathies re the event in Vienna, Rad. That's an awful long way to travel only to be rebuffed in such an unfriendly, hostile manner.
By contrast, RC tanking is alive and well in Germany, and so I find it slightly mystifying why the Austrians should take the stance they do. Freddy, (Panzerjaeger66) prolific builder and Tanknut lives in Austria. I wonder what he makes of the overall lack of enthusiam?

I only just saw this, yes, Thomas realised what people were doing, buying the DasMikro board which is a clone, and then downloading his software and sound files. He simply changed the system so that the new sounds were encrypted and so that the new firmware wouldn't work with the cloned boards. I seem to recall that he has now stopped development on the micro board, but I don't know if this is true.

I am surprised that he didn't either reduce his prices, or sell the micro system to the Chinese, Dasmikro have probably sold more of the clones in 12 months than Thomas has sold in his lifetime?

The new firmware versions dont work even with his original micro boards... It seems you are right and he might be abandoning them...

But yes, I am the first surprised about his very proud prices. For what he charges for the programming cable (which costs 1 euro free shipping to make) you can have the chinesse board...

You are sure the chinesse sold more clones in 12 months than he in lifetime? Im sure too, but I'd say the chinesse guys sold more in two weeks. I think a proof of it that was the huge lack of info about the board in internet until the clone appeared.
