Does anyone know anything about the creality LCD printers? I know it's a resin printer, but I'm trying to find out if it will print the flexible rubber type resin that we need to make tires. I also need to know what kind of flexible resin works best and where I can get it if anyone knows. I've still got a couple weeks until Black Friday, which is when I'm planning to buy some type of resin printer.

I have a Wanhao D7 LCD printer and I've been trying flex resin for the tyres on my Staghound

I had to cut the tyres in two to get them to fit on the print bed. Then I can use resin to glue the halves together.

My first attempt using Photocentric 3d resin-

Going to order some Monocure to try out.

Im getting a Wanhao D8 which has a print size of 197x 148 mm so I can do tyres in one go.

So how big are the tires and how big is your bed? I'm looking at the Creality LD-001, an LCD resin printer that says the bed is 120x70x120, and the tires for the trucks I'm building are about 57 mm. With FDM printers you can't quite print all the way to the edge of the bed, so my CR-10's 30ox300 mm bed can't quite print a part 300 mm long. Maybe 290? Not sure, but the point is I don't know if resin printers are like that. If the minimum dimension is 70 mm can it print a full 70 mm wide or maybe just 65 mm or even less? Hmmm, so much to learn. I looked at the D8 and it looks very cool, just a bit out my budget, but maybe I can get a deal on Black Friday. With 20 or 30% off I could do it. 8)

The D7 has a build area of 120 x 68 x 180mm and it can print to the edges. The staghound wheel are 76mm across so I could print them vertical but I want the layers to go across the tread.

The flex resin is good but difficult to use. Too thin and it shreds apart, too thick and there's no flex.

The D8 has only just been released so I'm waiting for them to iron out any bugs.

A tip to all, when removing prints from your glass print surface, don’t bend the glass over your knee!
