Hi from Axis Commander

Post by axiscommander »

Hi there from sunney surrey.

I am relatively new to tank modelling. after the neighbour bought a tiger tank for his son, i thought i could do with one of those so i purchase a bulldog for my 'son'. having upgraded the gearboxes because the old ones were collapsing, i bought myself a 'customised panzer III from ebay ( after i has a cheap abrams tank which now needs a motor for the turret rotation because all its gears have split. any suggestions????)
My latest purchase is a H?L Jagdpanther which i am starting to detail. just need to find some good pics which seem hard to find, although there is a book coming out later this month , according to amazon anyway, about the jagdpanther so may get some good info from that.

I tend to drive abut the garden with my son, but we do travel as a column across to the green we have opposite the house, where there happens to be a buried air raid shelter covered in grass which makes a good 'landscaped' area for driving around on with 1/16 scale hills!

well, here are my tanks. all heng long except the abrams, and technically the bulldog is my sons.....

the abrams is being rebuilt, there is a topic onit in modern tanks
the Jagdpanther is what i bought when i said to the wife 'but the abrams is knackered and will probably end in the bin' ;D. i have fitted metal grilles and moved the aerial to start with, mantle and welds next.
the bulldog has metal gearboxes and now metal tracks, painted and driven in mud!
and the panzer III is stock other than weathering etc and is how i bought it
