Heng long barrel elevation issue

I have a heng long Sherman with the newer dual sound Heng Long electronics. The barrel on this newer set up goes up or down rather than on a continuos loop like on older electronics. Mine has stopped working and am looking for advice on fixing it. Here is what I have checked so far,

I plugged the elevation unit into the plug on the hull connector for the turret traverse and can confirm that the elevation unit works in both directions

I swapped the 8 wire hull to turret wire in case the original was damaged

I installed a new hull 8 pin plug connector

Non of the above has worked which makes me think that the problem may well be something to do with the main board itself?

Has anyone else had a similar problem or can suggest a possible fix
