Don't know about helicopter 400 but most speed is dictated by gearing.allthough Im sure that different motors speed varies with voltage, the 480's I'm useing have a range voltage of 6 to 8.4 even though they are 7.2 voltage motors.Look in the electronics section of the forum their are some post that may be helpful as I'M also a recruit and only been tanking for about 4-months.Sax

Yes they do, is the short answer. Best explanation I can give is that they are designed for RC helicopters. A friend and I tested them a while back and whilst 'another brand' (Protech or Jamara I think?) required a lot of throttle to lift off the chopper, these motors zipped it straight in the air. Very high torque from very low revs, and very high revs when they get going.

We tried them in an HL Pershing and tried our best to blow an RX14, but there were no ill effects.

I have had them in a 13lb Tiger on an RX14 and it just flew along.

...tried them on an Elmod board and it melted the esc's in 10 seconds???...go figure.

Not easy to find (well mine are, they are in my spares box!), but they do the job.

Can you provide the brand and model of your "heli 400s"?  Maybe someone will be lucky and find one.

How fast do you want to go?

The old Tigers equipped with black capped Suntech motors did 2.5mph.  The motors are turning about 15250rpms.  Change to a 12T pinion and you'll get 3mph.  Substitute Speed400s for about 17500rpms and you'll net 3.4mph

Scale speed for Tiger I is 1.5mph
