There are two styles. One has brass gears with plastic drive hex, the other is steel gears with steel drive hex. I usually search "wpl metal" on ebay.

Waiting for full metal alloy axles for 1 truck and a steel set for another.
My metal driveshafts have at least arrived

Meatball...Yes as Mr Prime says.
Will..funily enough my metal drive shafts also came last week but waiting as you are for the metal upgrade and full metal front axle.
Had an email from the supplier of the full metal axle that they had a defective batch shipped to them and was only found on inspection prior to dispatch so having to wait for new batch coming in...well at least they checked them before dispatch.

I have the same exact message, i said i would wait the next 15 days they mentioned as a delay.
Although to be fair they could always send me some free defective axles as they could be easily re-worked to make a drive through centre axle possibly!!

Hi Will.
Looked at the same thing but it woukd have meant buying 3 rear axles then splitting the third for the drive through adding half of it to the second axle but decided it was too costly so went for the all metal front and all metal internal kit for the centre and rear axles.
This can suddenly get quite expensive if your not careful.

So do we think it woould be possible to get one of these trucks to tow a 1/16 tank.

I am working on something like this at moment. We will.see.
Check out n30 motors and can run them 3s
