Adapter for airbrush compressor

Post by Blackadder123 »

Hi guys,

I thought it's finally time to give airbrushing and try to give my tanks a bit of individuality as opposed to their stock factory paint job.....

One slight problem; The old compressor I have seems to lack some sort of adapter to connect to the air brush. Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but does anyone know what type of adapter I need to buy? Or perhaps I could buy a new air hose for the air brush that would be compatible with this compressor? Could the adapter also come with a pressure gauge (Think that's missing too)?

Thanks for any help lads

EBay (and elsewhere!) sell adaptor sets that include most standard sizes that allow you to connect your hose to the compressor. If you can measure your hose and compressor couplings you should find a single piece that may save you a few bob.

If you tap in your Airbrush details and your compressor details to any search engine looking for an adaptor and pressure gauge you should strike gold dust OR the Compressor maker or the Airbrush maker may well have an adaptor and pressure gauge in their product range check their websites.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

This adaptor is only used with the badger vinyl hose, braided hose’s fittings are a bit larger.
But it’s a dry heat!

Here’s the one you’ll most probably need.

Nope, mine is connected fine to the 5' badger braided hose. It's a genuine badger part.....

Hmmmm, so I assume you screw the badger hose onto one end and the other end connects to the compressor? The shape of the adapter is a bit confusing though, wouldn't both sides have to look like the right side (with threads)?

Blackadder, most compressor’s Air outlets are a male thread, therefor adaptors will have a female thread such as shown.
