RAL colors Panther-F

Post by Rob59 »

Hi guys.
Today I finished the Schurzen on the left side of my Panther-F.
As you might have read in one of my former topics, I said I would solder the brackets and the hangers for the Schurzen together.
But, because I used aluminum for the brackets, the solder did not stick to it....damn.
I could have known that, because my first option was the magnet trick, but aluminum and magnets did not go together either.
Aluminum is non-ferrow......
So I had to get me a better quality of superglue, which finally did the job.
Maybe tomorrow I can work the other side of the tank, and next step will be painting the Schurzen in the same camo colors as my F-Type.

In the downloads topic I found some RAL colors used by the Wehrmacht and the SS Panzer Abteilungen.
Does anybody on here know, if these colors would match the camo of my Panther-F?

Olivgrun 6003 (and further options mentioned in the file A-D)
Schokoladebraun 8017 (other options A-C)

I must order the rattle cans online, so it would be nice if I could get the correct colors in the first order.
Any other options are more than welcome!
Thank you!

Basically that would be the numbers. But you wont get the exact shade most likely. Would be your chance to redo the Panther as well ;)

For my Panther Ausf. F I used the next Humbrol enamel colors:

- Olivgruen, Humbrol nr. 252 or 82
- Chokolade Braun, Humbrol nr. 98 or 81
- Light earth, Humbrol nr. 119 for the lines between the green and brown, and for the splattering on the Schurzen too.

These colors do come pretty close. The brown could have been one tint darker, but the one I used will do.
It is very hard to choose, being at the modeler's shop because some colors on the lid doesn't even come close to the color you had in mind.
So it can be a bit tricky and turn out into a disappointment, once on your tank.
Maybe this will be of any help for guys searching for the right thing?

Without the splattering on the Schurzen:

And here when finished:
