Some pictures showing some good half track articulation.
No issues with tracks coming off the drive either, so it seems these tracks are robust even with misalignment i have created with the articulating tracks

Only issue i get is after some time of running the track links can pop open. But a little cyano at the joins will cure that issue.
I am super impressed how this runs. Now just got alot of painting and styrene sheeting to do.
What armament should i fit? MG or Cannon or keep it a troop carrier?

I think your right. Maybe a 6lb or a T19 esque halftrack

Also tried finishing off the paint on the M35 Giraffe camo.
Canvas sorted and camo touched with detailing by Will Pattinson, on Flickr

Going to put a bit of detailing into nuts and rivets and bolts next. The major details are sorted, well chuffed with the Giraffe camo, really enjoyed doing that, it also looks great.
Big thanks to the wife for sorting out a great looking set of canvases.

Will, did you see the box opening video for the 6 by 6 on the previous page? After the video I got it inside and found that it had a broken axle. The seller is sending me a new truck free of charge. Of course, this means it will be awhile before I get to the build because it will take at least 4 weeks to be delivered.

Have you noticed that these axle housings are different from the ones on the wpl trucks? I haven't taken one apart yet to see if the insides are the same or not. Have you?

I will send pictures, but yes these axles are much different to the WPL ones.
They are open differentials. It allows much easier turning, but actually the truck is not as capable offroad on uneven surfaces as you get wheel spin as the unloaded wheels just spin up.
I plan to resolve this with an old Tamiya truck fix where you load the axle with thick heavy real truck grease. this them allows both wheels to spin together and helps resist the spinning up of the unloaded wheels soo much.
The axles themselves although do appear much bulkier so will last longer than standard plastic WPL ones and will take alot more abuse.

I am trying to get a JJRC Q60 6x6 cheaply at the moment to use as a base for a tank hauler as i think it will be a better base than the original HL & WPL trucks.




Thats kind of cool in a way that they are sending a free truck, means you have a damaged other truck to use for a wierd build. Maybe you could use the body to make a cool looking Rat/Hot Rod haha. This is what i plan to do with one of my JJRC trucks. Shame you have to wait another 4 weeks though for the next to arrive!!




I should add a quick bit of advice.
If anyone is looking at the best version of these trucks so far, they should look at the Fayee version which is mostly advertised with the track units.
Everything about those trucks is more substantial and far better built. I want to make a monster pulling machine with it
