Taigen Track tensioner bar
When i took apart my taigen tiger to replace the idler arm, i noticed that one of the small squares on the track tensioner was cracked and had a chunk of it missing. I'm wondering if i could still use it as is or if its unusable now, and where i can get a replacement.

Re: Taigen Track tensioner bar
Hello,
I do not want to place any promotion for my work here, but these Taigen miracle components are cheap copies of bad Tamiya components.
I recommend replacing the whole tensionbar, then you have peace of mind with it and can concentrate on other components.
Please look in the link, good it is all written in German, but the photos are more important than words.

It looks lightly different from the one my tank had, could that one be installed without any changes?Ad Lav wrote:http://etoarmor.com/?product=henntec-id ... and-taigen
You can buy one from eto in the USA.

The forum was closed because of privacy, I had forgotten.
Now I try to insert the whole topic, let's see if it works:

Hallo,

@ Ashmann: if you give me an e-mail address, I could send you the installation instructions as PDF.
Best regards, Guido

Re: Taigen Track tensioner bar
hi guys
in my words here is not any intention to trash the work of Guido, but i've to say that for my cats it worked better the taigen/tamiya system that the hentec one, not for a better design, but for a big issue i had that caused the hentec to be useless:
under high loads the grub screw 'ate' the grooves of the idler wheel axle, rendering the system useless. It happened in a few weeks,so the item was almost new.
i attach a pic
as i said, i've no intention of speak badly about hentec, Guido, df not be angry with me mate!
best regards

Re: Taigen Track tensioner bar
Hey, Ashman, I like the henntec system myself, and have it in a couple of my tanks, but if you don't want to spend the money I have the part that you need. I could probably put it in a padded mailer and send it to you at no charge. If I have to put it in a flat rate box it would cost you 8 bucks for postage. Of course, the hardest part will be finding it. I'll look around when I get home from work and if I can dig it out we're all set. Just let me know if you're interested.

I noticed it too. It is sad. As a temporary solution you can switch sides. Then the unspoiled part would face the grub screw. Or perhaps try a different grub screw if they come any different.

Re: Taigen Track tensioner bar
Is that an older model? I thought I heard the newer ones have a hardened axle and a cone point set-screw to fix that problem.Jussek wrote: under high loads the grub screw 'ate' the grooves of the idler wheel axle, rendering the system useless. It happened in a few weeks,so the item was almost new.
