Gear ratio question

Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.

Gear ratio question

Post by frankie »

What sort of gear ratios are you guys using to get a better scale speed...I’m planning to just drive the rear axles on a build so thought about using something like this...

remember...it's just a plastic tank... :/

I settled for a pair of 300 RPM Geared Motors for my WPL/Heng Long 4WD Truck one for each axle. just under £5 each,
The geared motors come in different ratios and are readily available through different dealers,
E-BAY is awash with them at 3 to 6 volts(DC) and they are surprisingly small.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
