Mato Sherman
Hi everyone,
Can anyone tell me if the drive sprockets on the metal mato sherman M4 will fit on the drive shafts of the old plastic sherman M4a1 76mm. I have see pics, but don't know if it is a drive sprocket and track swap or a lower hull exchange.
Thanks Steve

Re: Mato Sherman
Hello, if it helps, I fitted mato Sherman metal sprockets onto heng long gearboxes, I think you only would have problems
using taigen gears due to a thicker output shaft.

Re: Mato Sherman
I have fitted the Mato metal sprockets on my original Mato 76mm plastic lower with the stock black plastic grearboxes. Hope this helps.
Tanks alot....

Re: Mato Sherman
I haven't tried to put the metal sprockets onto the plastic Mato hull, but I did test to see if the plastic tracks will fit onto the metal Mato lower hull. They do not fit without additional track links. Too short.
ETA: oops. Nevermind. I was thinking about the Taigen tracks.

I don't think the Taigen tracks will work. I've used the stock Mato metal and plastic tracks, they are very realistic looking and work great.Maccrage wrote:I haven't tried to put the metal sprockets onto the plastic Mato hull, but I did test to see if the plastic tracks will fit onto the metal Mato lower hull. Yeah. The Taigen are too short. I really want to replace all my metal tracks with the Mato plastic ones.c.rainford73 wrote:I don't think the Taigen tracks will work. Re: Mato Sherman
Hi everyone,
I would like to thank everyone for their replies to my question.
You have given me several ways to go forward on my next project.
I have a second hand plastic mato M4a1 76mm but like the look of the metal M4a3 75mm turret and the T49 metal tracks, so my aim is to combine them all.
This will be an economy build, with the electronics to be decided upon later. Possibly Clark, Taigen or Heng Long.
I will let you know how I go and include some pics.
Thank you & Cheers
Steve

Re: Mato Sherman
Good evening,
I've been a fan of the old and original plastic Mato M4A1 76(w) since it came out. I have an "In the Mood' built from one. A Build thread from you would be mucho appreciated.
regards,
Painless
