Panther Schuerzen

Post by Rob59 »

I just ordered a Panther-G and F ( :O ) at RCTank.de
Now I want to make skirts/Schuerzen on one of them, and I will have them cut at work out of 1mm aluminium,
The only thing I do need, are the correct sizes (in cm if possible) and how much to go on each side of the tank.
When I have the measurements, I can have them made.
Thanks.

The youtube lines say it is a Panther G.....but I think it looks like an F..... :D
But he might have upgraded it of course.
He sure likes the word "Quasi"..... :haha:....he mentions it in almost every line

Rob if you go to "Downloads" at the top of the page you can download the "Tamiya"Panther "G" PDF,
It does not have Schurzen but it does have details of the Schurzen mounting rails,
Once you have read that DO make sure you scroll down to the very last part of the download because "Tamiya" have included an amendment to how the Schurzen mounting rails should be fitted,
My Panzer 4 Turret Schurzen is 1.70mm thick and that is all I can tell you I am afraid, I don't do Panthers  :haha:
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

From what I remember, such Schürzen would be 5mm, so .3mn at 1/16. Is that correct?

By the way. The recent Tagen hull already has some basic mounts fitted. So there would be no more figuring that out. You would just need to build the schurzen to that pattern. They would overlap a bit.

Hi Rob,

I found this info on another rc site ages ago and took a screen shot of it as I thought it may come in useful when I was going to make some for my panther, hope it may be of some use to you
