Since you guy's left there has not been a lot of good builds posted there swathdiver got it going with the Mato Sherman but he is now getting insaulted by some because its been delayed Bob from ETO armor  said he dont post much there because some one always wants to pick a fight I posted the Metal turret ring here only because you guy's have a lot of good build ideals and dont cut down a guy for trying .

I started modelling in 1:16 about the time the first HL Tiger 1 hit the streets after many years doing 1:35 tanks. I accidentally stumbled on the other forum while scouring the net for ideas and guidance. I began posting and got a lot of help and guidance from lots of people. I did get one insulting post from a self styled guru regarding my first attempt at PzIII schurzen, but chose to ignore it.

Looking back I have realised that the vast majority of the help and advice I received was given by people who are now members of this forum. Those same people are now banned over there and posting their excellent builds over here.

They have not appointed themselves as demi-gods who know everything about a particular tank, and they certainly do not insult people who are starting out in this hobby. They offer constructive criticism when asked and share their knowledge freely.

Whatever the level of your modelling skills, this forum ( in my opinion ) is the place to be.

Hi Guys Beware they read your P.Ms on R.C.U.. they banned at least one of us because for (quote your P.M, have been stopped because you may send a P.M. about other forums)This was why they banned Chris (grompix)not for something he had done but because he might(How would they know unless they read your P.M.s).I was banned for sending P.M.s to other British members of R.C.U. telling them about this club/forum.If you contact guys from R.C.U.suggest you send an e-mail.They cant read them.
         The guys who want to join us can do we dont ban guys who wish to talk about other forums, in fact we have members on here who moderators on Panzerketten and they have been good enough to put a link on there forum to tell there guys were here.There are also other members who are from other forums such as Hobbyhavoc and panzerteam.
       We are here to expand the hobby of R.C.tanks and other hobbys and have fun, we dont want to be narrow minded as long as know one is upset or offended we dont ban or punnish anyone,
       we do have to move the odd post and sometimes remove if its a little on the risky side, we do have children on here so thats the reason for removal sometimes the odd word maybe editted again for the children .The only member that I have had removed was a pornsite .
    I am a moderator here and I see it has my job to help others if they need it. I always try to answer questions when people need help and if I dont no the answer to the question I try to find out the answer.

i too got banned from the other forum for association and wasnt offered any sort of explaination for my crime but hey what the hell this is a much better place any way 

so in a way RC Ken has done us a bigger favour than any PM barring and IP banning
you wont get that here not unless your really naughty 
as ive said before most of us are novices when it comes to tanks and me myself learn a great deal from all you guys
even new guys bring something different whether its a fix or problem we all learn something new
and thats to advance the hobby as far as we can and still enjoy ourselves as for me fun is what its all about

I found this awesome hobby late last year and spent a lot of time researching as much as I could on the net and found 'the other forum' to be a great source of information. I still check it almost daily but I've noticed recently that it seems to have gone very quiet and after reading this thread I can see why.

Since I found this forum I've been spending more time here and in my opinion it's now the number one RC tank site on the net. The layout makes it easy to find what I'm after and I find the members here to be more friendly, encouraging and not as quick to criticise. There is still at lot of good information on the other site (if you can get their woefull search engine to give usefull results) but it seems most of the guys who posted the stuff I found the most use have moved over here now anyway.

I found RCU and a lot of helpful people.  Their input improved my modeling experience.  I build tanks, I post pictures of tanks, and I help when I can.  With no other agenda then that ,I have never once been approached by an RCU mod.  I have been around forums for a long time, since the old days compuserve.  THis kind of thing happens all the time, it is the nature of this media.  A bunch of factions split off, and then you spend more time flopping between forums then building or posting anything.  You guys had your reasons to leave and you did.  THe RCU forum become less without you.  Too bad people can't get along

Not sure how this thread advances the hobby or my modeling skills.  We got a good thing going here, not sure why it is necessary to open up old wounds, and stir up a bunch of resentment.  RCU and the people who post there are great.  I have had very few issues.  You learn to judge people by their text and nothing could be easier then ignoring people on an internet forum.  I do that when I need to.  Much like I should have ignored this thread!!!!!

This thread has not advanced my state of modeling one bit, unless of course my hobby was axe grinding!!!!!

There is the proof.  So my post has been compromised without me knowing it and given a tone that I never intended.  Congratulations, I hope you are proud.  Boy talk about the pot calling the kettle black.  Are all the other forum members here happy about automatic editing like this???. 

Maybe they will choose to input Nazi every time you type in the word German.  Whoa this absolute bullshit and I hope the Mods on this forum do something about it. I was kind of liking it here too, but stuff like this is crap.  Sorry guys stuff like this does little to impress me.  What ever happened to the high road and honor.
