Heng Long/WPL are now manufacturing 1/16 scale RC trucks, so it seemed sensible to create a forum area dedicated to the amazing things that members are doing with them. Post your builds, mods, and tips here.
Another cool idea. Maybe a rat rod top fuel dragster twist hehe

Very nice. Did you get Banggood?
I need to get a few sets for mine. That looks really good.
No slipping plastic bevel gears be nice upgrade.
Need to see if they do a 6x6 version for my GAZ 34

Has anyone used the rear twin axle suspension on the front to create a double steering axle at the front? It looks do-able if I can buy the suspension but if anyone has been down this path they may know something that I don't?
It has been some years since I was under a twin steer double front axle (Chinese 6) truck,
About 56 years I think
But the foreman fitter gave me (The Apprentice) a long exposition on the geometric complexity of setting up a twin steer.
It is not a simple case of placing one steering axle behind the other and hey presto.
Need to work out geometry for a centre of turn for front and rear axles. The rear most front steer axle should not turn to the same degree as the front most steer axle/ But you should be able to draw a simple 2d sketch of centre of turn for the wheels and get a coincident point for those.
With our models however where we are not going to care too much about road holding and tyre wear, it probably doesn't matter all too much if the front steering axles fight themselves a little and drag. After all the WPL axle are solid anyway with no centre diff.
Just need to have a bent steering arm for the rear most steering axles so that you can do a drive-through axle. Get some small rod ends and make up with a bit of welding rod and glue it into the rod ends. Or cut a thread so you have some adjustment and a better fit.
Will check out the tyres when home so can watch a video, but that is exciting news. Great work.
