Question on Peddinghaus DAK decal set.

Post by Ragnar »

I’ve been searching through the Peddinghaus decal sets listed on EBay, I know of course the swastika is of course been banished by the German Gov.and rightly so.
Question is this on the Peddinghaus decal sheet I’m thinking of purchasing it has the emblem the DAK used to identify itself a Palm Tree....now the version’s I’ve seen dictated a swastika that was super imposed on the tree,
Peddinghaus of course does not show this but the tree is in 2 pieces with a blank space where said swastika would be,my question is is it actually blank or is the emblem there on the decal sheet and just not being shown because of be forbidden in German advertisement’s.

P.s this decal set is for listed as being for a Panzer III
But it’s a dry heat!

Hi Ragnar,

The dak decal set does have the swastika present, the palm tree decal actually comes in two pieces, the top part with the palm and half of the swastika and the bottom part of the trunk which has the other half of the swastika, when you put the 2 sections together it depicts the full emblem, hth

Cheers, Lee.

Bill’
Don’t suppose by any chance you did a tutorial on your Panzer III BUILD?
That’s one of the most realistic paint jobs I’ve seen of a war weary tank, perticulary like the rust along the edges of the plating. Fantastic!

Thanks! I was real happy with how it came out.

I didn't do a build thread as it was basically a repaint on a used chassis a buddy of mine got for me. I did do a show off thread, with more pictures, though.

I just used a small piece of that green Scotchbrite scrub pad held in a set of hemostats. Dipped it in gray paint, blotted most of it off on a piece of paper, then hit the areas I wanted the chipping on. The chipping was done last. The base color is just Rustolium Sand, clear coated with flat, then a black wash overall. When I wipe off the wash, I leave some streaking as the weathering.

Hope that helps!
