I got my first tank(snow leopard) but confused

Post by idk761 »

I  got my rc tank ;D. But right now it is charging, but have some questions.

1. What is the formula to find out charging time? I have a 1700mah Ni-CD 7.2 battery, and a charger that outputs 7.2 400mah.
The charger is just a simple one, not an intelligent/smart one.

2. What is the Crystal Oscillator? I looked it up and it is used to detect frequency and stuff. I am a little confused, because it has a tiny metal object in the battery compartment, with some white tape sticking on the Crystal oscillator. It kind of is antagonize me to take out the metal pieace attached to the white tape, but I don't know what to do it.

It also doesn't help that the manual is in Chinese.

I have a smart charger and a 3800mah Nicm battery on its way, but I really want to try out my new tank, so I have to make do with the 17000 Ni-CD ONE.

I would charge the original battery for about four and one quarter hours with the wall wart of a charger, to work this out you have to divide the battery's ratting with the chargers output
1700
400    = 4.25

leave the crystal alone unless you have a frequency clash with another tank, then change it and the one in the TX for a matching pair for HL radios, it and the one on the TX should have  number on them as the pair in the picture are set No. 3  the one marked RX goes into the receiver board and the TX one goes in to the socket on the transmitter

have fun with your tank and welcome to the forum
