Hi Chaps,
I've had my Tiger 1 about 3 months now, had a few problems with smoker & RX board, anyway, what I've done is copy a modified smoke unit, which I found on this site, originally posted by Laz 2428 ten years ago, replacing the 'piston motor' & replacing with a 40mm computer fan, a bit of cutting & filing then sealing with thin plastic, I've enlarged the hole also where the air enters the 'oil tank', fitted it all in & it works brilliant & is completely silent !
Unfortunately when fitting the top of tank back on, the turret motor now hits the smoke unit, aaarghh s**t ! now what do we do, there's nowhere else to put the smoke unit, so after lots of scratching the head I thought, right, move the turret motor, this is fixed in place by three screws on 'posts', it's awkward but I managed to cut the securing posts from the body, then re-use them when fixing the turret motor on the right hand side of body, all that's left to do then is cut teeth into the ring gear, otherwise the turret will only turn 45 degrees to the left, there is a blank spot on the ring gear which prevents the turret completely rotating, with the teeth cut you can rotate 360 + just be careful to rotate back so you don't twist the wires up inside.
Hope some of you find this useful. Happy Tanking !
PS Tried adding images, but was unable to.

Hi, You can buy a metal 360 degree turret ring or an ABS 360 degree turret ring with full wiring loom and attached plugs.
Forgebear and Dominque are just two dealers who should be able to supply them for you.

I think I am about to upset someone

hi yes a 25mm fan is best for conversation i have ten tanks and have had no problems with the instalation. what element you using , i use 15oms resistors and kavla thread work well for me .
time that's all it takes ,, TIGER 1,TIGER 2, PANTHER G, PANZER 4,KV1,T34,M3,M16,M4,M26,,251,CHAL

Hi,
Thanks for replying, I'm using an 18 ohm resistor inside a small candle wick & cotton wool as the 'primer', it works well, but I imagine a 15 ohm resistor may produce a bit more heat/smoke, where do you get your kelvar from ?
Many thanks .
