Yes it is a Panzer IV ;)  the reason i put this picture on is because it shows the Schurzen with zimmerit on it, and quoting what John (Mackem) was saying "realistically speaking, it is very possible that surviving PzIII's could have received a coat of zimmerit in the field" i think its fair to say their could have been a Panzer III trundleing around in WWII like this, so i say go for it Dragon245 and build your Panzer III  like it ;D ;D

i think we rely on photographic evidence to much go with what you want to do, just because there isn't a pic doesn't mean it didn't happen.
we now know the PzIII had zimmerit so why not on the schurzen........

This has stired things up a bit :o I don't build particular tanks, but like to add bits from photos etc to make something interesting. Take the panzer 3 build at the moment. Im planning for a couple of swapped plates on the schurzen, one will have different paint scheme, one with zimmerit. Ive found a pic with a large cam net rolled up over the front spare track, and so on. Please keep posting pics ideas etc, helps us all make somthing a bit different ;D ;D

Apparently there was an OKH order dated 29/12/1943 that stated that zim should be applied to the PzIII.
Have a look here: http://www.panzerworld.net/zimmerit

Altho the PzIIIL/M had ceased to be combat effective, the PzIIIN and FlamePanzer would have still been useful thru 1944...

Just a thought...
