Both Cromwell and Churchill were very square shaped tanks, easy meat for the Tigers and Panthers. The firefly was a yankee Sherman just fitted with a bigger gun,but still a Tommy Cooker as the Germans said and as for the Achilles, well enough said. For the life of me I cannot understand why they didn`t improve on the desert Crusader. Here was a Tank with the perfect shape and speed, but was poorly armed with paper thin armour. As they said in the film the Battle of Britain,"it makes you want to weep" ???

Correct, the Israelis used it and loved it.I think this was the first time a British tank could be really feared.

i saw a programme about the Churchill a while ago, the Germans thought the tanks were a throwback too WWI and we just wanted to get rid of our old rubbish.when you look at it you can understand why..........( would still love one in 1/16 though )
